Westminster California

The Hermosa Valley Greenbelt offers a cool and peaceful escape, just minutes from the beach. The San Clemente Beach Trail is a little over 1,000 feet long and a little over a mile long and is one of the leading rail routes in the area.

The Walnut Trail shares a wide corridor with an active rail line (BNSF route) in a section of Orange County known for the production of oranges and strawberries. The Venta Trail runs along a former railway spur that began in 1916 as a link between the packing station and the San Clemente packaging plant.

Westminster is located on the Pacific Coast Highway, about 10 miles south of San Clemente, a nearby town where visitors to the resort can stay overnight. The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and Santa Barbara National Wildlife Refuge are both about 10 km from Westminster and offer views of the San Gabriel Mountains, San Bernardino National Forest and Santa Ana Mountains.

A trip to Westminster will allow you to experience one of the most popular sporting events in the world, the World Surf League (WSL). Every year, nearly 500,000 spectators gather to watch surfers compete on the West Coast's most famous beach, which is located directly across the pier. Major events include the US Open, the World Cup and the Junior World Championship.

Now let us look at how Westminster treats violent crime, and particularly property crime.

When Neighborhood Scout compared Westminster with communities of a similar size, our analysis found that violent crime in Westminster was at a higher rate than the national average and property crimes at the same rate. Westminster's crime rate is so high that it is among the highest in the country. Regardless of how Westminster performs relative to a community the size of America (and compared to other communities with a similar population), the crime rate per thousand inhabitants is higher than most. Indeed, when comparing Westminster with communities similar in population and size to other communities, the combined violent, property and violent crime per head is on average much higher.

This makes Westminster a community where, compared to other communities in America with a population of this size, you are more likely to be victims of property crime.

According to our analysis of FBI crime data, Westminster has a crime rate that is more than three times the national average of 1.5 crimes per 100,000 people. Importantly, we found that Westminster has a higher rate of property crime than California. In fact, if you live in Westminster, the chances of your car being stolen are one in 336. The chance of being a victim of violent or property crime in Westminster is 1 in 33, according to the FBI.
